This document is to help you get your email working with your email client and assumes that you have already set up your email accounts in your Balanita control panel.
These basic configurations work on all email clients substitute yourdomain.com, username and password where appropriate:
Username | Enter the full email address |
Password | Use the email account's password. |
Incoming Server (POP3) | pop.us.appsuite.cloud Port: 995 |
Incoming Server (IMAP) | imap.us.appsuite.cloud Port: 993 |
Outgoing Server (SMTP) | smtp.us.appsuite.cloud Port: 465 |
Troubleshooting
The most frequent issue is getting your email client to accept the SSL connection for outgoing email with STARTTLS because it can occasionally be buggy given the current state of TLS.
You must configure your account's SMTP security to be none in order to resolve the issue. Once everything is configured, go back to account properties and change security to STARTTLS with your regular password. Try sending an email once you're done. Your email client will object and display the certificate with an accept/reject button. You can start using the certificate properly as soon as you accept it.
What causes this to occur? We have provided SSL for your server's hostname, so technically any domain hosted on the box should function. However, the email client complains because mail.yourdomain.com's hostname and domain name do not coincide. Once you agree to it, you can send an encrypted email.
